"When we first bought our house it had a driveway and patio that needed serious attention. The Town & County Paving team not only helped design replacements but built them within budget and in extremley good time" - Mrs. Rhodes, Guildford
Herringbone describes a type of interlocking pattern using rectangular shaped blocks and is possibly one of the most common block paving patterns used due to its simplicity and clean lines.
While there are several variations of the herringbone used in paving, the two most popular are the 90degree and 45degree variations – the latter being exactly the same as the first but rotated and laid at a different angle.
A different feel can be achieved using this pattern by choosing blocks with different rations. Some examples include 3:1, 3:2, 4:1 and 4:3.
